Colin Blowers

M.A., Dip. Behav. Psych. (Maudsley)

I am a Cognitive Behaviour Therapist with a national and international reputation and over 30 years experience in treating people with a wide range of problems. Having originally trained at The Maudsley Hospital in London, I have been in private practice since 1986. My approach is both friendly and collaborative.

My original training was at The Maudsley Hospital 1980/81. Following this I worked as a therapist for the NHS until 1988 and have worked full-time in Private Practice since then. I have a Masters Degree in Developmental Psychology from the University of Sussex.

I have given lectures and workshops at both the Universities of Sussex and Guildford, to Psychiatrists, Psychologists, General Practitioners and Health workers throughout the UK, to Doctors and therapists in the Czech Republic and Estonia and I have presented a workshop at European Congress of European Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies (EABCT)

I can provide a confidential service to people aged 10 and over

I am a fully accredited member of The British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), the lead organisation for CBT in the UK. www.babcp.com

I appeared in the Phobias series on BBC2 in 2000, The Big Breakfast Show on Channel 4, Gloria Hunniford’s Open house Programme and was recently on the One Show.

I provided background material for the BBC series "The Speaker"
